KENTWOOD, Mich. (Michigan News Source) – Alleged lies about who was behind the wheel of an August collision that killed a 12-year-old Ottawa County boy have landed a 43-year-old woman in U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement custody.

Forty-three-year-old Magdalena Vail Molina is accused of driving on a suspended, revoked or denied license, a felony. Molina’s charges also include lying to police, which is a 2-year misdemeanor. Police said Molina initially told them her daughter was driving the car. Isaac Michael Rose died while riding an electric scooter when Molina reportedly missed a yield sign and struck the boy.

Kentwood police arrested Molina on Nov. 26; she was initially held on a $200 bail and $2,000 bond before ICE detained her.
