DETROIT (Michigan News Source) – While Michigan residents enjoyed the holidays, U.S. Border Patrol agents continued to arrest illegal aliens.
In addition, the entire month of December proved to be a busy one for border patrol agents working in the Detroit sector. According to CBP Director of Field Operations Marty C. Raybon, agents arrested an illegal alien from Nicaragua on Dec. 9. He entered the country in 2021 and is awaiting his removal from the U.S.

Raybon also reported on Dec. 10 that agents arrested an illegal alien from Venezuela who’d been in the country since May 2023.
In the lead up to Christmas, border patrol agents apprehended a Special Interest Alien (SIA) from Iraq. They define SIAs as “illegal aliens from countries that pose an enhanced national security threat to the United States.”
The Marysville Station agents arrested five illegal aliens from Mexico during a targeted enforcement action who are now all awaiting deportation.
As previously reported by Michigan News Source, agents arrested a member of the Foreign Terrorist Organization Mara Salvatrucha (MS-13) in Shelby Township in early December.
