There’s another thing Josh and Jase noticed as they arrived in Michigan from across the pond. “There’s a lot of potholes!” the pair said. Jase added, “I understand now why Michigan likes the snow. It fills the potholes.”
Josh chimed in, asking “I want to know where the funding is? It needs to be going to the potholes. I’ve got whiplash.”

The quality of Michigan’s roads are as much of a part of the state’s culture as the Great Lakes, Vernors, and going “up north.” It’s been the centerpiece of Gov. Gretchen Whitmer’s two terms — a promise to “fix the damn roads” — but critics say the effort has hit more potholes than progress, a bumpy reality even out-of-town drivers can spot.
“Let’s get them potholes filled!” Josh said.
