WASHINGTON, D.C. (Michigan News Source) – Democratic politicians like to say “No one is above the law.” However, U.S. Senator Elissa Slotkin (D-MI) doesn’t think the law applies to her.
Slotkin is refusing to voluntarily comply with a U.S. Department of Justice (DOJ) investigation regarding a video she organized urging U.S. military members to “refuse illegal orders.”

“At this point, I’m not gonna be sitting down for this inquiry” Slotkin said in an X post. “I’m not gonna legitimize their actions.”
Today, I sent a letter to Attorney General Pam Bondi and U.S. Attorney Jeanine Pirro informing them that I will not be sitting down with them for their inquiry over a 90-second video I filmed in November.

Slotkin, a former CIA analyst, and five other military and intelligence veterans in Congress made the video in November. The video, which appears to target military members, directed them to “refuse illegal orders.” Slotkin, and the other five lawmakers, have yet to specify what illegal orders from the Trump administration triggered the video. The comments came out around the time the U.S. Department of War targeted an illegal drug boat in the Caribbean.
