ANN ARBOR, Mich. (Michigan News Source) – Ann Arbor Mayor Christopher Taylor said Donald Trump’s administration’s goal is to preserve America for “Heritage Americans — white citizens” which he called “a disgusting ideology rooted in our national’s original sin of white supremacy.”
Taylor made his comments Monday after the City Council passed a resolution to impede the U.S. Immigration Customs and Enforcement (ICE) agency from operating within the city.

“Federal civil immigration enforcement is a fraud. ICE is a corrupt agency that must be abolished,” Taylor posted on his social media account. “The Administration’s goal is to delegitimize Black and Brown people to reserve ‘America’ for what they call ‘Heritage Americans’ — white citizens. It [is] a disgusting ideology rooted in our national’s original sin of white supremacy.”

“Ann Arbor will never cooperate, will always use every bit of its limited power to support the vulnerable,” said Taylor, who has been the mayor since 2014.
The City Council passed a resolution on Monday that would stop ICE agents from accessing non-public areas of city buildings without a warrant. The resolution also state ICE can’t use city or vacant parking lots as staging areas.
