LANSING, Mich. (Michigan News Source) – U.S. Senate candidate Mallory McMorrow, a Democrat serving in the Michigan Senate, reportedly made disparaging comments about the state she represents in now deleted social media posts.

The Washington Examiner reports the New Jersey and California native deleted 6,000 past tweets, including one that said, “There are days like these that make me miss California even more.” It continued, “I had a dream that the U.S. amicably broke off into The Ring (coasts + Can + Mex + parts Mich/Tex) and Middle America,” McMorrow reportedly wrote.

According to CNN, McMorrow wrote the posts between 2014 and 2017. CNN used the Internet Archive’s Wayback Machine to uncover the tweets. In addition, data shows McMorrow’s X account currently contains about 13,900 of the more than 20,000 posts it reportedly boasted in 2022.

McMorrow, who now lives in Royal Oak, is one of three Democrats running to replace retiring U.S. Senator Gary Peters, also a Democrat. Other candidates include Abdul El-Sayed, a Muslim progressive who has aligned with antisemitic influencer Hassan Piker, and U.S. Rep. Haley Stevens, seen here.

The likely Republican candidate is Mike Rogers, a former member of the CIA, the Michigan House, and the U.S. House of Representatives.
