TRAVERSE CITY, Mich. (Michigan News Source) – A Traverse City burger joint is setting aside competition to support an owner in need, and it aims to sell 1,000 burgers for a good cause.
Tim Bergstrom, owner of Bergstrom Burgers in Traverse City, has been struggling with treatment for leukemia. One of his competitors, Oakwood Proper Burgers, has jumped in to help.

Oakwood Burgers is hoping to sell 1,000 burgers on Saturday, April 11, with 100% of the sales going to help Tim to help with his recovery.
Leslie Bilbey, owner of Oakwood Proper Burgers, spoke to Traverse Ticker and said she wants a “win for Tim.” She said, “Tim isn’t just a fellow business owner; he’s a husband, a father, and a provider for his community. We wanted to turn our grills into a force for good. If we can hit 1,000 burgers, it’s a win for Tim and a testament to what this community can do when we come together.”
Oakwood Proper Burgers plans to open at 8 a.m. on Saturday stay open until 10 p.m. or when they hit the goal of 1,000 burgers sold.
