SAULT STE. MARIE, Mich. (Michigan News Source) – Chippewa County authorities recovered human remains during a large-scale search for a missing person who may have disappeared nearly six months ago. Now, officials are waiting for forensic confirmation of the victim’s identity.

Investigators say the search began after Sault Ste. Marie Police received a delayed missing person report last fall. The person’s vehicle was later found abandoned off a remote two-track road north of Paradise.
