LANSING, Mich. (Michigan News Source) – U.S. Senate candidate Abdul El-Sayed’s campaign is coming under fire for potentially misrepresenting himself with the title “doctor” during campaign appearances.
“Potential for deception.”
The Center to Advance Security in America (CASA) filed a complaint with the Michigan Bureau of Professional Licensing, arguing that a review of Michigan and New York state medical records show the Democratic candidate has never been granted a medical license in either state.

Speaking exclusively to Michigan News Source, CASA Director James Fitzpatrick said the facts uncovered El-Sayed’s misrepresentation. “Public reporting shows that El-Sayed has never been granted a medical license in either Michigan or New York,” he said. “Given the confusion and the potential for the deception of Michigan residents, we are requesting a full investigation by the Michigan Bureau of Professional Licensing. Any representation that may have the public believe that El-Sayed is licensed to practice medicine should be closely examined.”
Michigan law.
