GRAND HAVEN TOWNSHIP, Mich. (Michigan News Source) – A suspicious death investigation is underway in Ottawa County after officials found eight family members dead in their home following a fire on Friday.
Some of the victims had gunshot wounds.

Authorities said the victims in the Grand Haven Township fire are believed to be related, including six children between the ages of 5 and 15. Authorities identified the two adults on Saturday. WOOD TV reports that Amanda “Mandy” and Kristopher Karolkiewicz were identified as the deceased adults.
Grand Haven Area Public Schools acknowledged the deaths in a letter posted on social media.
“It is with deep sadness that we acknowledge reports of a devastating incident in Grand Haven Township…involving the loss of multiple lives, including several school-aged children,” Grand Haven Area Public Schools Superintendent Kristin Perkowski wrote Friday night.
Authorities said the investigation remains active, and additional information is expected following the completion of the victims’ autopsies.
