ANN ARBOR, Mich. (Michigan News Source) – The former University of Michigan football staffer whose years-long romantic relationship led to coach Sherrone Moore’s firing has filed a lawsuit against the school.
Paige Shiver filed a Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) lawsuit against the University of Michigan. She claims the school refused to release records from a $12 million investigation.

Shiver’s attorney, Andrew Stroth, told reporters, “This public university paid Jenner & Block $12 million to investigate the Sherrone Moore scandal and the abuse, Title IX and Title VII violations within the athletic department and Schembechler Hall, yet now refuses to release the investigation’s findings.”
The University of Michigan has not commented on the lawsuit.
Moore’s legal troubles began in December after he confronted Shiver following the end of their relationship, and the university later fired him. In April, Moore received 18 months of probation for confronting Shiver at her apartment after his firing and threatening to hurt himself with her butter knives. He pleaded no contest to trespassing and malicious use of a telecommunications device.
The investigation examined the culture inside Schembechler Hall and Shiver’s years-long relationship with Moore. The school fired Moore for cause, citing an “inappropriate relationship” with Shiver.
Shiver said the documents will show university leaders knew about a pattern of abuse but took no action. The university has denied multiple records requests and is not commenting on the lawsuit.
