WASHINGTON, D.C. (Michigan News Source) – If the check is in the mail, it will soon cost more to send it.

The U.S. Postal Service (USPS) is raising the price of Forever stamps on July 12. The cost of a Forever stamp will increase from 78 cents to 82 cents. When the USPS introduced Forever stamps in 2007, they cost 41 cents each.

In addition, prices for other mailing services are also expected to increase, including postcards, international letters, and metered mail.

A few cents may not seem like much, but the increases can add up quickly for households and businesses that send holiday cards, invoices, wedding invitations, promotional materials, and regular correspondence.

According to ForeverStamps.com, the latest increase continues a trend that has accelerated over the past six years. Here’s how the price of a Forever stamp has changed since 2020:

55 cents in 2020

82 cents beginning July 12, 2026
