GRAYLING, Mich. (Michigan News Source) – More than 9,000 military personnel from 36 states and territories, along with forces from five international partners, are converging on Michigan for one of the nation’s largest reserve component readiness exercises.

Northern Strike 26-2 will run through Aug. 14, conducting realistic, multi-domain training across the Michigan National Guard’s National All-Domain Warfighting Center. The exercise is designed to prepare military personnel for large-scale combat operations.

With thousands of service members participating, residents across the state can expect to see increased military aircraft and vehicle activity during the exercise.

Training will take place at Camp Grayling Joint Maneuver Training Center, Alpena Combat Readiness Training Center, Lake Michigan, Lake Huron, Rogers City Quarry, Battle Creek Air National Guard Base, Selfridge Air National Guard Base, Oscoda-Wurtsmith Airfield and K.I. Sawyer Airfield in Marquette.
