HENDERSON, Mich. (Michigan News Source) – A Consumers Energy lineman died Thursday, Aug. 13, while working in a bucket truck in Shiawassee County.

The Michigan Occupational Safety and Health Administration (MIOSHA) announced that the 48-year-old journeyman line worker was performing overhead electrical work when he was electrocuted in Henderson.

Consumers Energy said, “We are providing resources to support our fellow coworkers who have known and worked with him and extending our love to his family.” The utility is working with state and local officials to investigate the death.

Shiawassee County Central Dispatch said it received notification that a man had been electrocuted while working near the intersection of Marion Street and West Henderson Road. The caller stated that CPR was being performed on the employee.

MIOSHA said the death is the 30th Michigan workplace fatality of 2026.
