LANSING, Mich. (Michigan News Source) – Michigan Secretary of State Jocelyn Benson is the projected winner of Michigan’s Democratic primary for governor.

As of 9:10 p.m., Benson (84.7%) defeated Genesee County Sheriff Chris Swanson (15.3%), according to unofficial results from the Associated Press.

Tuesday night’s win sends Benson into a November showdown against the winner of the Republican gubernatorial primary, whose votes are still being counted.
