GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. (Michigan News Source) – A bull and a cow got loose along US-131 in Byron Township on Tuesday, disrupting the morning commute.

Officials said the bull had to be put down after it became aggressive as people tried to guide it back into a livestock trailer. The cow was safely corralled.

The Kent County Sheriff’s Office said the animals got loose near the US-131 and M-6 interchange. Video shows the bull making its way along the exit ramp from northbound US-131 to 76th Street.

A sheriff’s office spokesperson said people tried to coax the bull into a trailer, but it became aggressive and began charging at them. The spokesperson said a patrol sergeant “didn’t really have a choice” but to put the animal down.

No people were injured.
