This price is 10 cents less than this time last month, but $1.11 more than this time last year.

AAA said Hurricane Ida, which took 13% of US refining capacity offline, is one of the reasons for the spike.

Earlier this year, President Joe Biden canceled the Keystone XL pipeline, which also pushed 11,000 people out of high-paying jobs.

President Biden also put a freeze on federal oil and gas leases along with permits to drill, including in ANWR.
