GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. (Great Lakes News) – The Gerald R. Ford Presidential Museum in Grand Rapids is closed until further notice due to COVID-19 concerns.

The National Archives and Records Administration, which operates the museum, announced local COVID-19 conditions forced the building to close Tuesday.

The museum is located in Kent County, which has been earmarked by The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention as a high community transmission level.

Since Michigan started tracking probably COVID-19 cases on April 5, 2020, Kent county has seen 73, 162 COVID-19 cases and 824 deaths.

The Gerald R. Ford Museum closure will remain in effect until COVID-19 conditions improve.
