GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. (Great Lakes News) – A Kent County health officer is asking for security after he says he received threats.

Adam London said he has been threatened and a woman tried to run him off the highway twice as a result of his mask mandate for preschool through sixth grade students in Kent County.

London wrote to the Kent County Board of Commissioners and asked them for security.

Parents have expressed their outrage at county commission and school board meetings regarding mask mandates.

State lawmakers who have threatened to pull funding from the health department over the mask mandate have issued statements supporting London and have emphasized that violence is not the answer.
