Eaton County Triple Homicide Not Random

CHARLOTTE, Mich. (Great Lakes News) – Eaton County officials say a triple homicide over the weekend is not a “random act.”

The three victims found on Friday were members of Daniel Sougstad’s family.

The 23-year-old Sougstad had been sought by statewide law enforcement.  Early Saturday morning, police stopped  Sougstad and neighboring police agencies in Ingham County arrested him.

He is now housed in the Eaton County Jail and is being held on three counts of open murder and three counts of felony firearm.

In a statement on its Facebook page, the Eaton County Sheriff’s Department said, “Our thoughts and prayers go out the family and friends of these victims of this tragedy.”
