SAULT STE. MARIE, Mich. (Great Lakes News) – The Biden administration says the U.S. will allow visitors from Canada by land starting next month.

The border has been closed for 19 months because of COVID-19 restrictions.

All visitors must be vaccinated.

This move is a big deal for businesses in Michigan border cities since they’ve missed out on revenue from international visitors.

The changes will start in early November; similar restrictions are set to be lifted for air travel as well.

In addition, the Biden administration says visitors from Mexico will be included in this move, but critics argue the influx of illegal immigrants at the southern border since Biden took office makes this statement meaningless.
