OXFORD, Mich. (Great Lakes News) – Three students are dead Tuesday and six others are wounded after an afternoon shooting at Oxford High School, according to Oakland County Undersheriff Mike McCabe.

The shooter is a 15-year-old sophomore and is in custody.

McCabe said the shooter, who appears to have acted along, fired 15 to 20 shots; roughly 100 calls were placed to 911.

Lt. Mike Shaw of the Michigan State Police said he believes this is the first active shooter situation in Michigan in a school in the last four decades.
