BATTLE CREEK, Mich. (Great Lakes News) – A former Bronson Battle Creek doctor is facing charges following nine unnecessary procedures performed on one of his patients.

Dr. Daniel Castro is facing up to 34 charges of healthcare fraud.

Authorities say Castro performed a surgery intended for cancer patients on a patient who had sinus problems.

Castro is scheduled for his first court hearing on February 22nd.
