GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. (Michigan News Source) – The Kent County prosecutor will announce Thursday whether charges will be filed against a Grand Rapids Police officer in the death of 26-year-old Patrick Lyoya.

Police camera footage shows Lyoya resisting arrest on April 4th and attempting to grab the officer’s taser.

Toxicology reports later showed Lyoya’s blood alcohol level at three-times the legal limit.

Protestors, who say they’re demanding justice for Lyoya, have interrupted several city commission meetings, forcing them to adjourn early.

Police are also investigating vandalism at several city officials homes.
