BATTLE CREEK, Mich. (Michigan News Source) – People are remembering a stunt driver who died over the holiday weekend in Battle Creek.
A vigil took place for 40-year-old Chris Darnell. He died when a tire blew on his jet truck during a race at the Field of Flight Air Show.

Vigil organizer Andrea Wilkey says they used the Fourth of July holiday weekend to let Darnell’s family know he was appreciated.
Air show volunteer Clarence Chivers says Darnell was “like a member of the family” due to his years of appearances at the event.
