DETROIT (Michigan News Source) – A vigil will be held Friday to honor slain Detroit Police Officer Loren Courts at the Second Precinct.

The five-year veteran of the department was shot in the line of duty last week responding to a 911 call of shots being fired from an apartment on the city’s west side.

The vigil is planned at 4:30 p.m. and will honor Courts for his heroism and service to the community.
