LANSING, Mich. (Michigan News Source) – While Gov. Gretchen Whitmer spend this week boasting “historical investments” in Michigan’s public schools via her $22 billion education budget, she failed to mention vetoing $6 million for pro-life pregnancy services on college campuses.

In addition, Whitmer used her pen to veto research grants that prohibit funding for stem cell research conducted on aborted fetal tissue.
Whitmer sent a letter to lawmakers on Thursday, saying “Any efforts to undermine a woman’s ability to make her own medical decisions with her trusted health-care provider will earn my disapproval.”
She went on to write, “Women and doctors should be making health-care decisions — not politicians.”
Whitmer has vowed to “fight like hell” for legal abortion. Meanwhile, she left health-care making decisions in her own hands during the COVID-19 pandemic when she left abortion clinics open but closed small businesses and schools.
On Friday, Gov. Gretchen Whitmer said she’s established the “Michigan Parents’ Council” which she says will center parent perspective in the policy-making process.
