LANSING, Mich. (Michigan News Source) – Michigan Attorney General Dana Nessel took to her personal Twitter account over the weekend to take a political swing at her opponent, GOP attorney general candidate Matt DePerno, and Republican gubernatorial hopeful Ryan Kelley.
In the tweet, Nessel appeared to make fun of the duo for wearing matching outfits.

Nothing to see here. Just a couple of seditious insurrectionists plotting to overtake our state government wearing matching outfits. Oh Northville. You are better than this. https://t.co/BU8G4XS1z2

Below in the same Twitter thread, Nessel alluded to Kelley’s alleged involvement in the events at the U.S. Capitol on January 6, 2021.
Fun facts about me and Gov Whitmer:
1) We take great care to coordinate our outfits so as not to match attire at events.
2) Unlike these dudes, neither of us was in D.C. on Jan. 6, 2021 assisting Trump in his attempt to illegally overturn a lawful election.

They are running to be elected, how is that over taking the government if they are elected? Is that what you did when you were elected?

you know when a politician talks about the appearance of their opponents, it really means there record is poor and they need to deflect.

Day drinking again, Dana?

DePerno did not seem phased by his opponent’s tweets.
Dana is losing her cool. DePerno +1 in latest poll. Michigan has highest crime rate in decades, now ranked #10 in sex trafficking, and a failing economy.
Dana’s strategy is to call me an “insurrectionist” and then arrest me. That’s what communists do. Plus she’s probably drunk. https://t.co/UTV6jol4hK

Kelley did not address this interaction specifically, but did call Nessel “corrupt.”
Michigan’s primary election is August 2.
