MARQUETTE, Mich. (Michigan News Source) – Northern Michigan University in Marquette has reinstated mask mandates for in-person classrooms and labs, effective immediately.

University officials say the move stems from an uptick in local COVID-19 cases that elevated Marquette County to the CDC’s “high transmission” category.

They say the mask mandate will be lifted when the county is removed from the “high transmission” level.

The university will continue to provide free KN95, N95 and KF94 masks throughout the academic year.
