BROOKLYN, Mich. (Michigan News Source) – It’s was Kevin Harvick’s day to end a drought of winning as he took FireKeepers Casino 400 at Michigan International Speedway. It was his first win since 2020 ending a 65-race winless drought.

“Everybody who doubted us doesn’t know us,” says Harvick.

Harvick took advantage of a late-race caution with a pit stop during a round of green flag pit stops. In the final green flag pit stop, he made a move that gave him the lead. After his final pit stop, which put him in front, there was a caution with Christopher Bell’s crash. Harvick stayed out after just having a pit stop as the rest of the racers came in.

In the restart, Harvick stayed ahead and held his lead battling Bubba Wallace to the end. Wallace couldn’t make a move at the end as he was held up by Joey Logano when trying to make a move for the victory.

“I’ll wear this one on my heart for a while. I failed everybody. Just hate it, hate it for our team. It sucks,” says Bubba Wallace.

With the win, Harvick is now on the playoff grid with three races left.
