JACKSON, Mich. (Michigan News Source) – Shoppers at a Dollar General store in Jackson ran into an unexpected patron on Friday when a female white-tailed deer wandered inside.

A report of the animal’s escapades reached the Jackson Police Department during the lunch hour on Friday, according to Jackson Police and Fire Services Director Elmer Hitt.

Within a few minutes, officers from JPD and Jackson County Animal Control arrived to help lead the doe back out of the store.

The deer spent about 20 minutes wandering around the store.
