GRAND HAVEN, Mich. (Michigan News Source) – GOP gubernatorial nominee Tudor Dixon is pushing back against Gov. Gretchen Whitmer, saying the Dixon campaign has accepted multiple invitations to debate her.

According to a press release, Dixon said she’s “accepted WOOD News 8’s originally proposed date of September 20th and has offered September 22nd, 27th, and 29th as alternatives.”

In addition, Dixon has accepted WXYZ’s proposed dates of either October 17th or October 24th. Dixon said the debate should be much sooner so voters can hear from candidates before absentee ballots are cast.

Dixon said she’s interested in accepting Fox 2 Detroit’s invitation as well as WWMT/WEYI/WPBN’s invitation which would also broadcast in the Flint-Saginaw-Bay City and Traverse City-Cadillac markets.

Whitmer’s campaign said, “Governor Whitmer has worked to bring people together to cut costs for hardworking families, protect the right to choose, strengthen public education, and fix the damn roads.”

The general election is November 8.
