Below are Michigan-made products that will have your guests saying “Mmm” for weeks to come!

KOEGELS. Koegel Meats, a Flint tradition for more than a century, is always in good taste. When it comes to grilling hot dogs, any Michigander will tell you Koegels is the only way to go.

VERNORS. While some prefer the standard Coke, Pepsi, or beer to wash down their hot dog, a pure Michigander will reach for the Vernors. This pop (not soda!) has been bottled in Michigan since the late 1800s.

CHEESE. Maybe you’re more of a burger person than a hot dog connoisseur. Of course you’ll want cheese with that! And it’s best if it comes from Pinconning. Not sure which kind of cheese to serve? Here’s a good start.

BETTER MADE POTATO CHIPS. This potato chip company, headquartered in Bay City, will add some crunch to your party.

PICKLES. Michigan is in quite a pickle, and that’s a good thing. Did you know Michigan devotes more acreage to pickling cucumbers than any state in the union? They are manufactured everywhere from the Thumb to the west side of the state and everywhere in between.

FUDGE. Mackinac Island boasts the best fudge in the state, but it now sells the same sweet treat at numerous vendors throughout Michigan. Joann’s and Ryba’s boast some of the best fudge on the island, and if a trip isn’t in your future, they will ship it to you.

CHERRIES. Traverse City has an entire festival centered around the cherry, but the pitted fruit can be found in retail stores all over the state. From the Copper Top Country Store in Owosso to Cherry Republic venues throughout the state, you be celebrating this amazing fruit.

Happy Labor Day! Enjoy your Michigan feast.
