YPSILANTI, Mich. (Michigan News Source) – Students may be back in classrooms at Eastern Michigan University, (EMU), but teachers are nowhere to be found.
EMU’s faculty are on strike. The American Association of University Professors voted 91% in favor of the strike yesterday after working without a contract since their previous deal expired August 31.

The union says EMU repeatedly failed to bargain in good faith on a new contract.
EMU’s spokesman says the strike violates state law and classes will take place as scheduled.
