IONIA, Mich. (Michigan News Source) – The Michigan Department of Natural Resources (DNR) received $250 million from American Rescue Plan Act, and those funds will go towards 100 new projects in the Great Lakes state.
The Sessions School House in Ionia is one of two major historical projects on that list.

The school house was built in 1847 and is Michigan’s oldest cobblestone schoolhouse. At one point in time, it housed 24 students.
The Sessions School House was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 1985.
