GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. (Michigan News Source) – Bird watchers across Michigan are getting their binoculars ready.
Sandhill cranes will soon make their annual trips from their summer breeding grounds across northern parts of North America to their winter homes in the southern U.S. and northern Mexico.
As the bird’s migration peaks from mid-October through November, thousands will make their way through the Great Lakes and Plains states.
In Michigan, these gatherings most often happen in the Lower Peninsula in large fields and marshes.
