ST. IGNACE, Mich. (Michigan News Source) – Now that the main camping season is done, the first two of eleven major projects to enhance state campgrounds have begun. 

The first two projects are at the Straits Park in Mackinac County and Cheboygan State Park in Cheboygan County.

The $3 million in renovations are coming from a piece of the American Rescue Plan Act funds. 

It is believed the $3 million investment will have an estimated economic impact of $12 million on local economies and improve facilities at both parks.
