DETROIT (Michigan News Source) – The price of the all-electric Ford F-150 Lightning pickup is going up again.
The automaker says the 2023 base model will have a base price of nearly $52,000. In August, Ford announced price increases of between $6,000 and $8,500 on the Lightning, depending on the model.

Ford officials touted a starting price under $40,000 for the vehicle when it was launched in April. The MSRP for other trim levels of the Lightning will remain the same.
The price increase is being blamed on supply chain issues and rising materials costs. AlixPartners put out a report this summer that raw material costs such as cobalt, nickel and lithium have more than doubled during the coronavirus pandemic.
Current retail order holders and commercial and government customers with a scheduled order will not be impacted by the price increase, the company said.
