KALAMAZOO, Mich. (Michigan News Source) – Police across the state are reminding folks to be wary of scammers this holiday season.

The Kalamazoo Department of Public Safety is reminding residents that it does not email invoices for traffic fines or court costs.

The police department posted a screenshot yesterday of a Facebook post by a scammer looking to collect a fine and processing fees from, of all people, the Kalamazoo police chief himself.

Officials say the holiday season will bring out all kinds of scammers and residents need to be extra vigilant.
