DETROIT (Michigan News Source) – For the tenth straight year, someone has dropped a rare South African Krugerrand gold coin in a Salvation Army Red Kettle in Michigan.
The anonymous donor dropped the coin into a red kettle at the Kroger store located in a Detroit suburb on Tuesday night.

The coin is worth around $1,765. The Red Kettle Christmas Campaign helps to feed, clothe, and support people in need.
The coin was issued in 1980. The donation brings the non-profit closer to reaching its 2022 Red Kettle Christmas Campaign fundraising goal of $8.2 million.
