Schurr has been charged with second-degree murder. Schurr said he feared for his life when Lyoya resisted arrest and reached for his taser. Toxicology results revealed Lyoya’s blood alcohol level was three times the legal limit at the time of his death.
Attorneys Ben Crump and Ven Johnson say they have “overwhelming evidence” that “proves racial profiling and excessive force” during that traffic stop.
A press conference is scheduled for Wednesday afternoon.
