PONTIAC, Mich. (Michigan News Source) – James and Jennifer Crumbley are trying to get their bond lowered to allow them to be out of jail until their involuntary manslaughter trial next year.
The two are charged with four counts of manslaughter in the deaths of four Oxford High School students who were shot and killed by their then-15-year-old son, Ethan, who has pleaded guilty.

Prosecutors accused the Crumbleys of being grossly negligent in caring for their son.
The filing says the defense has new information that can explain why the Crumbleys had four cellphones, used cash versus credit cards, and stayed in local hotels. The Crumbleys say they never fled, but left Oxford to stay in a friend’s Detroit art studio “for their own safety” and planned to surrender the following day at their scheduled court hearing.
However, prosecutors argue that explanation shows they were on the run.
