GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. (Michigan News Source) – Lake Michigan Credit Union employees at the branch in Wyoming are unionizing. A letter, which was released and is signed by 11 employees, said a “majority” of the employees at the branch, 3870 South Division Ave., chose to form the alliance.

The union only affects that branch and employees say it is because they feel they are “underappreciated and undercompensated.”

The branch has customers who speak several different languages, and the employees say they have not been compensated for additional tasks. They are looking to form the union with the Communications Workers of America. The credit union was founded in 1933 and has 68 branches in Michigan and Florida, and about 1,500 employees.
