EAST LANSING, Mich. (Michigan News Source) – The city of East Lansing is now officially a sanctuary city.
The City Council voted 3-1 on Tuesday night in favor of the measure. This makes East Lansing the first official sanctuary city in Michigan.
The sanctuary city designation means the East Lansing Police Department would not cooperate with Federal Law Enforcement, like Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE).
