WELLSTON, Mich. (Michigan News Source) – Police in West Michigan say they arrested a man after he allegedly held two women hostage.
Troopers were called to the man’s home north of Grand Rapids on Saturday morning.
One of the women told police she and a friend were visiting the suspect at his home when he accused the women of stealing his methamphetamine.
According to the police, the man assaulted the women and brandished a handgun, telling them they could not leave. One woman called her son who was able to confront the suspect and free her; a state police emergency support discovered the suspect at the scene while the remaining hostage had left on foot, according to the Manistee County Sheriff’s Office.
No injuries were reported. The suspect is being held in the Manistee County Jail.
