DETROIT (Michigan News Source) – Travel around parts of Detroit will get tougher this weekend.
Starting Friday at 9 p.m., both directions of I-94 will close as MDOT crews remove the Cass Avenue overpass.

It will be closed from I-96 to I-75.
Detours will be posted. It is expected to reopen completely by 5 a.m. on Monday. Several ramps will close for an indefinite period so crews can safely work on building outside supports of the new bridge.
Construction on the new overpass should be completed in 2024.
