The indictment says the eight are charged with engaging in a civil rights conspiracy and violating the Freedom of Access to Clinic Entrances (FACE) Act. They are Calvin Zastrow, Chester Gallagher, Heather Idoni, Caroline Davis, Joel Curry, Justin Phillips, Eva Edl, Eva Zastrow, Calvin and Eva Zastrow.

Idoni, Curry, and Phillips are Michigan residents.

In addition, the indictment accuses the eight of using physical obstruction to intimidate and interfere with the Sterling Heights clinic’s employees and patients. Idoni and Edl are tied to allegedly interfering at a Women’s Health Clinic in Saginaw in April 2021.

According to Catholic Vote trackers., the DOJ charged 26 pro-life activists with FACE Act violations in 2022 alone, but did not charge a single pro-abortion activist with FACE Act charges in 2022. This oversight comes after more than 100 apparent pro-abortion attacks on pro-life pregnancy centers and churches nationwide.
