LANSING, Mich. (Michigan News Source) – Walgreens will not sell abortion pills by mail in 20 states which currently have strict laws against abortion.
The statement comes after attorneys general in 20 states last month warned Walgreens and CVS of the legal ramifications of selling abortion pills in those states.

Mifepristone is one of two drugs used in chemical abortion and is at the center of these lawsuits. However, the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) announced the prescription of the abortion pill will not require an in-person doctor’s visit. The Biden administration requested the move after the pandemic allowed three years of prescriptions made over telehealth visits.
In Michigan, the House sent a bill to the Senate which would repeal the 1931 abortion ban. In November, voters approved Proposal 3 which, among other things, solidifies abortion in the state constitution.
