JACKSON, Mich. (Michigan News Source) – The boyfriend of a Jackson High School teacher found dead in an Ypsilanti-area apartment last week has been charged in her death.
Washtenaw County Sheriff’s deputies found the body of 48-year-old Alyson Doulos dead in a Ypsilanti Township apartment on Monday, March 13 after receiving a call for a welfare check. Her cause of death has not been released.

Doulos’ boyfriend, 41-year-old Charles Gamez, has been arraigned on an open murder charge. He also faces felony charges for unlawfully driving away a vehicle. He was denied bond and is currently being housed in the Washtenaw County Jail. He will appear in court at the end of the month.
Doulos taught 10th grade English and served as the National Honor Society advisor for Jackson High School since 2020. She previously taught English at Jackson College.
