LANSING, Mich. (Michigan News Source) – The Michigan Civil Service Commission (MCSC) is seeking public comment on a proposal to drop pre-employment marijuana drug testing for state jobs.
Under the current law, someone who tests positive for marijuana is barred from applying for another state job for three years.

Marijuana use by U.S. workers reached an all-time high last year according to Quest Diagnostics. The MCSC says some jobs will be exempt from the change including those applying to the Michigan State Police and drivers of commercial vehicles.
Public comment can be sent to the commission by June 23rd and a review of the feedback will be discussed on July 12th.
